Mint Flip Strategy

What is a Mint Flip Strategy?

Two parts to this strategy, starts with minting a sneaker from two other (vintage) sneakers, and then flipping one of the sneakers to cover the minting costs with some profit left over. As the parent sneakers gain mints, the cost to mint them again gets significantly higher, so the starting strategy for least cost and most profit is a 0/1 mint flip. As you scale up to additional mints each day, you have to add in 1/2 mint flips, these aren't as profitable but come with other time benefits.

Mint Flip Strategy

How does the 0/1 Mint Flip work?

You use a 0/7 and a 1/7 as the two parent (vintage) sneakers, mint them together and get a new 0/7 baby sneaker. Each parent gains one mint, so in total you end up with a 0/7, 1/7, 2/7. Now you sell the 2/7 and you are right back to the 0/1 you started with, level up the 0/7 baby to L5 (takes 15 hours), and you can mint again after a 48 hour cooldown.

Can you mint every day?

With two minting pairs you can mint one of the 0/1 pairs on the even days, and the other 0/1 pair on the odd days, each time you will get a new baby to level up, and have a 48 hour cooldown until the next mint.

Can you mint more than once per day?

This starts to get tricky, because each new baby takes 15 hours to level up to 5 so it can be a parent, works out well with a 0/1 minting pair each day, but at 3+ 0/1 minting pairs, now you have to wake up in the middle of the night to level babies, and you run out of time in the day to level them. Now is the time to add in some 1/2 minting pairs so you don't have to worry about leveling the babies.

How does the 1/2 Mint Flip work?

You use a 1/7 and a 2/7 as the two parent (vintage) sneakers, mint them together and get a new 0/7 baby sneaker. Each parent gains a mint, so in total you end up with a 0/2, 2/7, 3/7. Now you sell the 0/7 and the 3/7, and buy a 1/7, and you are right back to the 1/2 you started with. With this strategy there are no baby sneakers to level up, so it allows you to sleep through the night, level up a main sneaker, and scale up to several mints per day without running out of time leveling babies.

Does the type of sneaker you use as a parent matter?

Both the sneaker type and the gem sockets are very important to the profitability of mint flip strategies. If you try to mint floor priced sneakers, it can eliminate all of the profit, instead choosing a sneaker type that sells for more and gem sockets that are most wanted will make the sneakers you flip sell for a lot more than the floor price.

What about the mints that aren't like the parents?

These are where you find the real hidden profits! Each time you mint you have a chance of a mint with perfect base stats, a double mint with 2 shoeboxes, a Trainer mint, an Uncommon mint, and the Jackpot of an Uncommon Trainer Mint. If you are minting several times a day, these become more common over time and add a ton to the average profitability of each mint.

What do you do when you mint a baby with a bad sneaker type or gem sockets?

These can be sold off, so that they don't make all your future mints sell for floor prices. If the baby from a 0/1 minting pair is not your preferred parent type, you can sell it as a 0/7, and make those parents a 1/2 minting pair. If the baby from a 1/2 minting pair is not your preferred parent type, you are already selling it, so it doesn't affect the quality of future mints. If you have multiple minting pairs on the same day, 0/1 in the morning, and a 1/2 later in the day, and the 0/1 has a baby that is not your preferred parent type, but the 1/2 mints a great one, you can swap the 0/7 baby from the 1/2 minting pair, to the 0/1 minting pair during that day.

Do you have a schedule of what a 0/1 mint flip looks like, with 4 sneakers in 2 minting pairs?

Have four sneakers, two with 1 mint, two with 0 mint.
Day 1: mint a 1 mint and 0 mint, sell the 2 mint one afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours.
Day 2: mint the other 1 mint and 0 mint pair, sell the 2 mint one afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours.
Day 3: mint the shoe that was 0 mint on day 1 and is 1 mint now with the one created on day 1, sell the 2 mint afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours.
Day 4: mint the shoe that was 0 mint on day 2 and is 1 mint now with the one created on day 2, sell the 2 mint afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours.

Do you have a schedule for 8 sneakers in 4 minting pairs, minting twice every day?

Have a main sneaker and 8 sneakers in 4 minting pairs, two with 2 mints, two with 0 mints, 4 with 1 mint.

Day 1: mint a 1 mint and 0 mint, sell the 2 mint one afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours
Day 1B: mint a 1 mint and 2 mint, sell the 3 mint and the 0 mint, buy a 1 mint

Day 2: mint the other 1 mint and 0 mint pair, sell the 2 mint one afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours
Day 2B: mint the other 1 mint and 2 mint, sell the 3 mint and the 0 mint, buy a 1 mint

Day 3: mint the shoe that was 0 mint on day 1 and is 1 mint now with the one created on day 1, sell the 2 mint afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours
Day 3B: Mint the 2 mint and the 1 mint you purchased on day 1B, sell the 3 mint and the 0 mint, buy a 1 mint

Day 4: mint the shoe that was 0 mint on day 2 and is 1 mint now with the one created on day 2, sell the 2 mint afterwards, level up the new one over the next 15 hours
Day 4B: Mint the 2 mint and the 1 mint you purchased on day 2B, sell the 3 mint and the 0 mint, buy a 1 mint
